Sorry to throw a monkey wrench in this...
Each gun type has their own modifiers. Sniper rifles have low impact, almost as low as some autos. But clearly it hits harder.
There's also level difference and enemy type to be taken into account.

Yes I know. I tested the snipers on a level 30 normal enemy with a level 30 character, so there is no damage reduction based on enemy rank(Major/Ultra). The only thing I'm stuck with is the influence of impact on the damage done. The increase in damage compared to the increase in Attack rating is somewhat linear, but the increase in damage compared to the increase in impact isn't. So I have a hard time calculation what impact actually does. Not only does a lower impact less damage but the Attack rating modifier also looks lower and the number (b) also changes with a change in impact.

I don't mean knight>hallowed> whichever I mean I've seen difference in damage from a shank to a same level vandal, I may be wrong but that would mean enemies have their own defense rating.

Ok thanks, will check on that. Still as long as I test on the same enemies I should get a formula.

In theory, where do you conduct these?

Edited by Sgt Bash X77: 1/25/2015 1:27:50 PMLevel 30 endless steps mission (Eye of a Gate Lord), at the first transfer gate. Kill the Hobgoblins on the left first and after that you can kill the goblins. As long as you don't shoot the gate the goblins will keep spawning, but not so fast as in the beginning.
