Can't Open Vault of Glass -- Only 1 Player?
I decided to try the Vault of Glass mission the other day. I got out to Venus and in the area, couldn't figure out what to do. The Ghost didn't pipe up and tell me anything like "You'll need people in each of those circles." or something. I'm only surmising this is how the gate is opened because yesterday, while there, I saw 6 players come in and it looked like 2 each went into the combat circles and when the tower was built, it fired a beam and opened the gate.
Is that the only way it can be opened? If so, atleast have the Ghost say something, or make it possible by moving blocks into the other two, or something.

6 RepliesIt's a raid, not a mission so it won't tell you what to do. You will need about 6 people and 2 on each of those circles to help defend it

1 ReplyIf you entire the raid only, hop on your speeder and go to the far right and wait til the spire forms. It doesn't work every time but it does work

2 RepliesThere's one way to solo the first part (well there's actually two but this ones quicker) you go up to the vault (giant ringed door) and go to the side of it with your sparrow you will see a little gap in the door because of designs flaws ram your sparrow into the little gap and then get off and your inside the vault (and yes the rest of the raid will work I've done it before)

Just posting this for those interested in trying themselves. Well, I went ahead and went in alone, just to see if I could get further. I did. However, I never did see any Vex or anything. I made it to the 2nd gate, could not cheese my way through it, but did identify some great defensive locations. Visually, VoG is one of the coolest maps as you work your way down into Venus' core.

There is a way to do it yourself like cheating you have to hop on your speaker and go right as fast as you can till u go into the cave tunnel and wait there for about two minutes then the spire is complete you go out then run your spreader by the gate then press a then boom your in

13 RepliesThe raids don't walk you through like most missions. They're a puzzle to be solved by an entire team. People have solod then. But it's difficult. And i don't think you can solo vog any more

Not trying to hate on this guy but this is a prime example of why the Armor system in this game is broken, or at least since the DLC release.

2 RepliesIt can't be opened alone without exploiting that campus 9 area trick. (Not sure if this works still) Otherwise, get a fireteam and open the vault the legit way

Stick to the new raid its pretty much self explanatory. Stay on the path and shoot stuff. Stand in the circle make a bridge. Made a bridge cross the bridge.

There's a way to get inside solo...you'll get one chest for the effort. After that you will need more people to get through further.

You could probably 3 man it, but solo would be tough.

14 Repliesit really is a shame bungie locked part of the game away from solo players who would like to try (and die) the vault as a solo. Bungie want solos to give them money but deliberately make parts of the game useless to them. weekly , nightfall solos have no choice but to cheese and vault they just locked... Bungie stinks, they lied about the game being good for lone wolves, they plain out lied so the could get a a couple of millions sales at the expense of their own rep.

I'm sorry to say this but in the grimory cards it says, "The vault of glass cannot be opened alone." The minimum requirement for opening the vault is two players who are bona fiable bad asses.
