Obama blowing hot air, and a bunch of baboons worshipping at his feet enjoying every moment of it. "Republican majority" my ass.

Did he mention military force against ISIS or something? My friend who's in the marines put up an Instagram about going to war or something, Idk if he was just blowing steam himself or something
-
He talked about valuing diplomacy and how using military force is just giving ISIS what they want.
-
So we aren't going to be doing that?

His language on the subject:
And tonight, I call on this Congress to show the world that we are united in this mission by passing a resolution to authorize the use of force against ISIL.
ISIL being the former name of Islamic State. Text of the speech (as prepared, I havent searched the official transcript as presented though I assume it's up): https://medium.com/@WhiteHouse/president-obamas-state-of-the-union-address-remarks-as-prepared-for-delivery-55f9825449b2

-
He wants Congress to back up what he's currently doing and depending on the language of the authorization provide the legality to move further. He maintains he has the ability to do so without authorization but has consistently sought such authorization from Congress after the Libya campaign

Sorry for the questions, I'm not really a politics guy, but is this just a ridiculous war effort for oil or are these "threats" actual "threats". I really don't know which propaganda to believe anymore
-
It's all good :-) In this case I'd say that Islamic State is somewhat a threat (and that oil isn't the interest here) but not one that the US can fix with guns.
