Opinions on Badger CCL
Just last night my friend was using some kind of scout rifle with explosive rounds and firefly. I was a bit jelly as I never could find one... Well, I thought. Ended up looking in the vault and to my surprise... I had a Badger CCL with explosive rounds and firefly just sitting in there!
Now I'm running with it and want opinions on whether I should max it out or not. It has a slower rate of fire but is the higher impact worth it?
(I have it equipped if you want to check it out) just to see what the community thinks about this weapon with its stat roll.
Edit: I appreciate the responses and have made a decision to max it out. I can't wait till I'm off work to do so!

I got mine as the winter Bungiegift. Firefly, but not explosive rounds. I maxed it, and it's a beast, like having a stable sniper as your primary. Great for most PvE situations

So far I like mine, I will miss my VOC but I need something until I get some primaries from Crota's End. Mine has firefly, luck in the chamber and armor piercing rounds.

The lower rate of fire doesn't seem to matter as much in pve and higher impact means it does more damage. I'm jealous. You got an awesome scout rifle!

If it fits your play style it's a great gun. You can't judge a gun by the way someone else plays with it or I can't reason being is that we might have different play styles. But for me it's a good gun. I just have better so I don't use it any more.

If you are coming from hand cannons you wii probably enjoy it. If you were a voc user you may prefer nitc. Reasons being most hand cannon users are patient with their shots so the low rof won't bother them. Where as most voc user just full auto and miss a few because it has quite a few rounds in it. So the slow need to hit model won't go with them well. Lastly firefly on badger is stupid nasty.

At least in crucible it's a three head shot kill..... it reminds me a lot of the A.1 .... whatever the rest of the name was from predlc vanguard.

It's a -blam!-ing beast. I have it on every one of my characters. Max it. Firefly and explosive rounds are hard to come by on a Badger. You're lucky.

Yeah. It's really because of firefly. The firefly kills come in handy with multiple trash mobs. Explosive rounds are only helpful on a situational basis.

5 RepliesHighest impact scout rifle in game. It one shots mobs in the raid with head shots. I use it for pve every time my vex isn't equipped (aka if I'm running icebreaker or gjallarhorn).

Im working on a vanguard commendation to buy this. I have a maxed three little words pulse rifle. It works well but the problem is that you can hit one round and miss one or two of the others in the burst. with scout you either hit or miss. Because of this it seems weaker even though it is maxed and I do much better with a scout. I'm halfway there. should have by wednesday.

I use it in PvP (non Iron Banner) with much success. Great at headshot bounties too, since the ORES sight is more sensitive to crits.

Edited by Chainsaw Tex: 1/19/2015 4:10:48 PMI have badger, rapier and nitc. 1) Badger 2) Rapier 3) Nitc Although fang of ir yut looks immense. Reason badger is best is because it hits headshots for dayz. Target acquisition so good and critical zone seems to be much much bigger than the others.

Bought another nitc instead and really like it, got badger with good perks as a drop but I just can't get into it cuz its too slow IMO.
