Everyone gets kicked off bungies lame game ... quick trip around the Help forums show that. Its just that bungie love to play the blame game. How do other game play out? Is it drop-outs like this in any other game? Plus there is a limited set of submarine cable out of Australia which all your providers would be using.Your company would lease capacity off one (or more) of these cables, and are governed to on-sell only within that capacity. If there is a problem it will be effecting the whole country, and bungie should have been aware of this when selling an "always online" game into that region.

 • Sep I appreciate Bungies software has its own problems, but this is not that. I had Telstra 4G connection and it worked fine. I also now use Telstra Cable and it works fine. The problem is the TPG connection. Also, Bungies software seems to have a lower tolerance for packet loss/latency and a heavier traffic load than other PvP games, so I think that is where this particular TPG connection has consistently gone past the "stable" threshhold.

 •
I also now use Telstra Cable and it works fine. The problem is the TPG connection
Don't know much about the topology in play - nor about TPG/Telstra ... but remember reading that TPG actually resells Telstra line space in a lot of areas. Also recall that you guys are not on true fiber, but some odd fiber/copper mix. If it is not the same line has the copper distance changed? What about SNR ratings? They may have bumped you onto a default high latency setup because of your line noise. Plus how do other games play out? Do any of these have issues? Does TPG run a different QoS than Telstra (suspect this would have been felt on 4G more than cable). And final point ... why the move ... and why not move back ? (and please - if you say cost, I hope it is a LOT)

 • Telstra does resell their exchange space and copper lines to TPG for rent. However note that the hardware in place is TPG owned, and that I believe is what is the problem. Yes, TPG ADSL runs over the Fiber to Copper line as I understand it. No the comparison doesn't carry, as Telstra Cable is Fibre to Coaxial line into the home, the TPG ADSL is Fibre to Copper (telephone line), and the Telstra 4G is a mobile wireless connection. Other games have been fine over TPG ADSL service, so I have concluded that other games are more tolerant of whatever kind of packet loss, latency issues I was experiencing with TPG; also that the traffic load of Destiny is higher than that of other games, from my perspective; thereby I conclude that Destiny demands more from a connection than the TPG service was able to provide. Do any of these have issues? No other games do not crash constantly with various codes; however I think there is a common denominator, and that is the TPG Internet service in its present form; was not able to keep up with the demands of BUngie's game. Does TPG run a different QoS than Telstra; how can a consumer tell.. except that two out of three services work fine. Why would I move back to a connection that doesn't work with Destiny? I hope I answered your many questions. XD
