Isn't the AK-12 featured in CoD advanced warfare?
If so, it doesn't seem that "advanced" if it's available today.

Remember that AW is set in 2050s, that makes the AK12 a 40 year old gun. Equivalent to the AK74 by today's standards.

I think that some marines still use the 1911 today.

marsoc /recon uses the 2013-2014 redesigned colt 1991. which is dumb because reasons. logistically special. frames crack after 5000 rounds because low quality but merica f'yeah factor. more expensive than competitor's options.

It's quite amazing really, that the same gun could be up to today's standards even though it was designed so long ago.
