Something tells me you're somewhat illiterate. When did I ever refer to DDOS? DOS and DDOS, yes there is a difference, get your facts straight before you spout nonsense.

DDOS involves multiple devices in order to take down a network, i.e like what those lizard fags did and is usually more severe due to the amount of packets being sent to the targeted network from the influx of attacking devices. DOS is usually the work of a single device to basically do the exact same thing yet less severe. DDOS is a federal crime (of course), DOSing is not (which I find idiotic). The intended purpose of DOS was to be used as a way to test your network or website if it could withstand large traffic and etc.

Pretty general so I will assume you know a bit about each. However impossible to DOS an Xbox using a gamertag and it would not simply drop you from a game, it could do damage to your Xbox and or internet connection. also as a side note you would not be receiving messages from them if they hit your Xbox, Unless they hit the specific destiny server which would affect many and catch a lot of attention quickly. Destiny servers are shit and drop constantly these kids are not hitting you with a DOS attack that is for sure.
