I don't know if the connection has been made anywhere, but I believe Xyor the Unwed is Dredgen Yor in all his Hive corrupted glory. The name is just too similar to be coincidental.

  • It's also possible that Dredgen Yor was, for lack of a better term, a pupil of Xyor rather than Xyor herself. Almost certainly they have some sort of connection, even if it isn't explicated stated in the grimore.

  • Isn't Dredgen a male though? And all hive wizards are female...

  • Ooh i like that theory. His scorned fiancee, maybe he sacrificed her to the Hive, or maybe she went willingly?

  • it could be that xyor was led to the moon by dredgen under the pretense of a wedding and she was transformed into a wizard. Dredgen definitely knew enough about the darkness to make something like that possible. Ever since I read the black garden grimiore I've started to question if the guardians are truly good, they are dead almost immortal beings brought back to life for the sole purpose of killing

  • Or maybe even his widow who took up Thorn after he was killed and went to the Hive to avenge her slain husband!
