I can't link you, but I believe deej said one that you will lose the "extra" ammo when you die. Like losing a bonus and that's as intended.

If it truly is intended behaviour then give me the option to have raid boots without increased heavy ammo, because I want no part of it!

Deej actually stated that it's not working as intended but he said that fixing it is much harder than it seems as it affects other things in the game blah blah blah. Bottom line, they are working on it but can't figure out how to easily change it. I believe that was from an ign video.

As Gloworm901 is mentioning it it appears also during cut-scenes !! Added value of stuff with extra ammo going down ! anyway this stupid system that when you change weapon and come back to it you loose ammo is ridiculous ! I tried with two Murmure on me, to see if they maybe get a real mystical bungie logic behind this and so i've tested switching between them in a fight, of course ammo are diminished each time you switch... so apparently each ammo clip is mysteriously 'leaking' of bullets and same weapons are cannot share same ammos.......

Haha yeah, basically a lot of blah blah. Shouldn't take this long to fix, even if it was complicated.
