Time to end this debate:
Court rules that she will continue chemo treatment under child welfare as she was tested and found immature and unable to make a decision of this magnitude. Doctors say with treatment she has a 80-85% survival rate and if she had not had the treatment she would have most likely died.
The court added evidence of her missing appointments with the doctors which have been stated to be because of the mother. The mother is thought to have been coercing the 17 year old girl into this decision.
"Really, the mother did all of the talking and sort of the fighting with the medical personnel. And so, really, the child stands in the shadow of her mother here. She's (the girl) not an independent decision maker." -from the article just to show how immature the girl is.
Missing appointments because of her mother
Did her mother cause her to run away as well? Is that why there was a missing child's report filed over her running away because she didn't want chemo?
It is thought
After that simple statement right there, the rest is irrelevant.

Edited by wpnott: 1/9/2015 3:52:50 AMI've heard of parents coercing children into worse. So nothing in this case is irrelevant. Edit: I'd like to your source for this information if you wouldn't mind.
-
I'd rather not, as I'll get tons of shit for it.
-
Then you clearly aren't using a reliable source.
-
Well it's never really let me down before. It's just an unpopular news channel banned from certain TV subscription networks.

Knew there was something wrong when the parents were supporting her to refuse treatment
-
Knew there was something wrong when the parents were supporting her to refuse treatment
I can only imagine what the intentions of this were...
-
We can assume motives all day, doesn't change the fact that someone's free will has been violated.
-
Free will? Is that what you call parents coercing children into quitting chemo. You must be a real winner in the ethics and morality dept.
-
Lol coercing. Where's the proof to that claim? It was only thought. If they actually did, that'd be child neglect and this would be a whole different story.

God only knows. Could range from claiming life insurance to the "western medicine is created by the government to poison the populous l"
