Unfortunately it is impossible to make true Damascus. You can still use the crucible method but still won't be true Damascus. If you're just going for the look chainsaw blades are great!

That would be very cool but holy mackerel is that material expensive. Best I can find is about 100.00 for just the metal blank and that's getting it out of Pakistan.
