You gloss over the fact that it allows us to sacrifice ourselves when a teammate is about to go down. Can't count the times I have stepped in front of enemy fire for someone on my team

Agreed. But super animations have always annoyed me in regards to time and movement when they are activated ... you might not make it in time popping RS >:-| stop being so flashy Warlocks and Hunters!
