I'm a muslim. Heres some reasons that got me.
1. Scientific facts stated in the Quran stated 500 years ago before it was discovered by scientists.
2. Every single word in every Quran in the world is the same. Not one edit or change made in any of them.
3. This avoids hundreds of contradictions unlike that of the Bible.
4. All the restrictions in the religion are for the good of humans.
5. Very peaceful teaching and practice.

I'm a Muslim too Alhamdullillah but don't promote the Quran as a Science book. It may have verses that match with science but it's a book of signs not science. It is guide to all of humanity.
-
Alhumdillallah. It wasn't my intention to promote it as a science book. Was just one of my reasons that strengthened my belief in it. Also my argument to many atheists who only believe in "science".

I can teach you another thing about the Quran. It's the number of times certain words show up. I'll give some examples Angels and devil are always being compared. The word Malaika (angels) and the word shaytaan (Satan) show up in the Quran 68 times each. In their singular, dual and plural forms then they show up 88 times each. The word man (rajul) and woman (imra'a) are both 23 times each. A verse in surah 3 says "Jesus is like Adam......" meaning God created them both but they are also similar in a different way. The name Isa (Jesus) shows up 25 times and Adam 25 times. Jennah (paradise or garden) and jehennem (Hell) both 77 times hayat ad dunya (this life) and al akhira (hereafter) both 115 times each Surah 71 is called Nooh (Noah) It has 28 verses. 71-28 = 43. There are 43 surahs before 71 that don't mention Noah and 43 surahs after that don't mention him. The Quran has 114 chapters. If you add 1+2+3 all the way to 114 you'll get 6555. If you add the total of verses you'll get 6236. Keep those totals in mind for the next part which may get complicated. Then you add the chapter number to the number of verses in the chapter. So surah 2 has 286 verses so you'll do 286+2 and so on. After you get all the totals you put separate the totals into Even and Odd. Like with surah 2 the total is 288 so that would be even. After you place the Odd totals in one column and the Even totals in another you'll see that they both equal 57 surah each. Then take the sum of the odd totals and you'll get 6555 and then take the sum of the even and you'll get 6236 which are the totals I asked you to keep in mind from before.

Wow haha that's pretty cool. Where'd you find this info from?
-
I heard of it then did the research for myself. It took like a week to get it all together. I have it all in a document that I can send you.
-
Sure. Thanks.

It comes out blurry. I'll just look it up. Thanks for the lesson though haha.

PM me your email and I'll send you the actual document
I'm a muslim. Heres some reasons that got me. 5. Very peaceful teaching and practice.
You can probably see where I'm going with this one, can you explain where the extremists went wrong?
-
Extremists only follow what suits them. The Prophet Muhammad warned against extremism in religion and they didn't heed his warning obviously.

Edited by PikachuNimbus: 1/6/2015 3:57:33 AMI really can't say with extremists lol. My best guess is that they misinterprated the verses. They figured they were fighting for their religion and for God but in reality they were going completely against the teachings of islam and got carried away. Thanks to those knuckleheads we have a bad name. Edit: killing anyone is a huge sin. It's stated in the Quran that if one surrenders in battle, take them to your headquarters and take care of them. The only situation you are allowed to kill is if it is in self defense or in war.
-
I'm guessing they keep declaring it all as an "act of war" to justify it in their mind? :L but yeah extremists on every side so no religion is technically best.
-
Do you practice any religion?
-
Not really, I mean living in the uk I still enjoy Christmas and religion base holidays and such because it's more of a tradition and a chance for the family to get together (basically a holiday) but I don't practise anything really.
-
Fun fact: Jesus wasn't born on christmas. Christmas was actually a pagan holiday where pagans gave gifts to their gods. Christians then made it a christian holiday. Well thats the broken version of it. Look it up it's interesting.
-
Legitimately interested, that's pretty cool, although I never paid attention in religion class
-
Lol. How old are you?
-
-
Cool. I'm 15
-
If you keep your head down and concentrate and stuff you'll go places, although you probably don't need me saying that.
-
Trust me you need to hear it from someone other than your parents once in a while. Thanks.
