The ways to improve his life is simple and common sense. He doesn't work, he is doing bad at school and doesn't help around the house. He is a burden.

When you're in the midst of a problem, the solution doesn't always appear easy. While it may appear to be such to someone on the outside, someone's situation is never as simple as it seems. Compassion and constructive criticism will go much further than insults.

Once again, just because it appears easy to you, doesn't mean that implementing it is. Not every person is exactly the same, and what may seem simple to you, may be hard to someone else and vice versa. You can be blunt and say your opinion, while still being constructive. Right now you're literally just repeating what he's said and what he already knows. Why be a parrot when you can say something helpful and original?
