I haven't done any research into the topic but I did hear from some random that was talking to me where I work. Apparently, there was a hostile takeover of Halo by Microsoft and Bungie was booted. He explained because of the hostile takeover Bungie opted to give Sony all the exclusives over Microsoft as a big flying blam you.
