I think that they should just let every spot in the vault be for anything. No more 20/20/20. Just 60 spots for any combination of gear, weapons and items.

This I can agree with. My general area is filled, while my armor area is empty and has at the most 10 slots used up when I'm trying to transfer engrams to my titan so he can get plasteel plating.
