1. Blue ones always drop as engram
2. The raid already is drop-free from everything
3. At level 30 purple engrams are also useless

I just had green and blue fall in VOG just this week, so that patch must have been for something else.

Purples have a chance to drop Exotics, which is why they'll never drop so often.

I had a legendary engram drop in Crotas end. It was nuts and crazy lucky. You obviously have never done the raids because engrams do drop.

I've had Greens and Blues drop in VoG, nothing in CE yet. But it obviously is possible for orbs to drop in a raid

In the beginning it was possible to get engrams in VoG that is correct. But they patched that, and so did they use the same thing in CE, which made dropping engrams, but also completing bountys etc, impossible in raids.

There are certain bounties you can still do. Kill three enemies with a super, for example. Vex majors can be done at gatekeepers checkpoint in VoG, not sure about Hive majors in CE though.

I have gotten green in both VOG and CE.
