A lot of hugs, and a lot of discipline. My dog has been my best friend for years but he still knows that when I tell him to do something he should do it. Don't be afraid to tell him what he's done wrong and point it out so that he understands. But understand that a dog is going to use the carpet as a bathroom eventually, on purpose or not. A bit of pet oxygen and a damp rag should work to get it out. Above all, LOVE YOUR DOG. Nuff said
