Give us the ability to trade Ascendant Shards for Radiant Shards!
Seriously... WTF am I going to do with all these extra ascendant shards I have? I don't want to toss a toon and start a new one, I can barely keep up with the daily grind it takes to keep the 2 I use moving forward. It is utterly ridiculous that the only way to get these radiant shards is from the new Raid. How about a way to trade/buy them at Eris (could make it so you have to be level 4 first) and it could be 10 Ascendant Shards for 1 Radiant Shard.
Not everyone likes breaking down toons to start all over leveling new ones and it shouldn't be the only path to us getting the new Shards for our gear.

Yhea, I'm going to bump this. Bungie basically admitted they screwed the pooch with the Radiant Materials, so give us a chance to trade ascendant for them, or a better way to farm them. HoW gave us a bunch of ways to get a lot more glimmer but we still don't have anything to spend it on apart for ammo synth. Glimmer requirements for weapon upgrades are much reduced now the Damage Upgrades are gone. I've got a bunch of Amethyst sitting in my vault which doesn't stack. I can't cash it because I'm at the 25K glimmer limit. I don't need to spend Glimmter, cause I got Ammo Synth's coming out my ears right now. Now if I could trade 5K glimmer for a Radiant Material I'd totally do that.

All these posts wanting to trade for more glimmer are cracking me up. The easiest thing to get by playing the game is glimmer. If you remember to use ether seeds, polyphage, black wax idols, or resupply codes before you go into an area on a strike, or when doing patrols. I've hit the 25K max so many times on glimmer by doing this. But it takes so many radiant shards and energy to level up raid gear, THAT is something I would more than happily buy!

You can trade radiant shard for energy with Eris. Why not with the ascendant shards?

Yes, I would have 3 32s right now, but can't upgrade my raid gear because I only have 3 chances a week to farm Radiant mats!!!!! -
I think Ascendant and Radiant should remain separate, however we should be able to trade them for something else - glimmer maybe :/

I actually need ascendant energies more than radiant energies. The weapons that require radiant energies are few, but there are a ton that require ascendant energies. I have 300 ascendant and 150 radiant though, so currently it's not a problem either way. I wouldn't mind trading in my ascendant shards however. I have almost 600 of those.

13 RepliesI can't get ascendant for the life of me. Got plenty of radiant, with nothing to use them on yet. Stuck between a rock and hard place for the time being. Not enough ascendant to upgrade my gear and lots of radiant with no gear to upgrade. It'll come, I'm sure.
