Snes games were only $20 then also. Major difference between games and hardware. They have technology today to fix games and it is well within our rights to make complaints about games. If you don't like the complaints you could always skip and not read what they say. Abd games back in the day had a whole lot more levels "cobtent" to them. You could take a few months to beat Super Mario. Destiny all of 2 days I believe it is somewhere around 18hrs of story mode. Huge difference

Games now have never been cheaper. You say the game's were 20$ then, but guess what that was equivalent to 70-80$ by today's standard. You see 20$, but you don't consider the economy then and now. As I said, games have never been cheaper than they are now.
-
Economy was a whole lot better under Clinton when Snes is popular. Dollar was a lot more valuable then. Might wanna research that more.
-
Yea the economy was better but gaming was hell of a lot more expensive compared to today. I'd say because the economy was better theb that gaming was a more expensive hobby compared to now.

Missing the entire purpose of this post but ok
-
Then the obvious answer is your blind. My reference was we aren't in the stone age anymore and games can be fixed yet companies don't fix a majority of problems.
-
True. It's not the same. I ignore most of the complaints but it sometimes gets obnoxious
-
but with inflation snes games in modern currency value would be about 60 dollars,
-
To be honest, those games weren't that long. Unless it was an RPG or a Zelda like game, maybe metroid, or metal gear, you could probably beat it in a single sitting. The games were designed in a way to extend content via artificial difficulty, and progression gimmicks/ mind games.

Edited by Niterrorz: 12/28/2014 6:50:03 PMSnes never had $20 games. Every game ive gotten was around $50. Actually theres an article about how game proces havent changed to reflect inflation over the decades.... and god saying decades makes me feel old!!!! And im only 30!
-
Also companies had to put out the best product possible. There was no fixing it later.
-
SNES games were never $20 except for old bargain titles. Cartridges were $39 to $59. Pretty much game prices haven't changed much since the 90's.
-
Snes games were never $60. I never once paid more than $30 for a brand new cartridge. Dreamcast cost like $45 nothing like today still cheaper and more stuff still.
-
I remember buying Gargoyle's Quest 2 on NES for $50 at Toys R Us when I was younger. SNES games new ran anywhere from $40-$60 depending on the game.

You can beat super Mario in 10 minutes.
-
If you cheat
-
It's not really a cheat, it's an Easter egg
-
Not too much shorter than it took to beat Destiny.
