it's called read the -blam!-ing update
lol ... go on, edit your post ... bebetter than getting flamed for not reading the OP's post. Was funny though ... accuse someone else of doing exactly what you did not do yourself. Well done.

Read what he posted. He had the old one equipped for upgrade at Xur and it reset his new one which was already maxed AGAIN. Despite the massive suckage, thanks to the OP for letting us know about this. I do have quite a few of my exotics twice so I will keep in mind only to ever have one of them in my inventory when upgrading an old one.

You shouldn't have to read the update outside of the game to figure this out. I just made the same mistake with a helmet. It's called, don't waste my time and effort, particularly when I am not getting anything more out of it.

I -blam!-ing did I had my old one equipped

Did it at least upgrade the old one to a new one ? I've heard of a similar bug where it would always upgrade/reset the "older" one if you have 2 or more in your inventory. Independent of what is actually equipped. In that case your old one woul dbe left untouched and every time you try it would just upgrade your new one over and over again.

No just reset my new one, that's why I'm pissed. . :/
-
Why have 2 in inventory in the first place?
-
Same bug then. It just scans your inventory and uses the first (oldest) one it finds. Does not check if you have multiple of the same exotic.
