Just a DDOS. They aren't competent enough to actually hack them. Don't worry, they can't get any personal or financial info from anybody.

Ok then, what's DDOS?

Distributed Denial of Service. It basically means that they use a bunch of computers to simulate a million people trying to log on at once. It overloads the servers and crashes them until the DDOS can be blocked and the servers can be rebooted.

Basically just sending a bunch a packets of information to a sever making it crash and causing a denial of service
