Just a DDOS. They aren't competent enough to actually hack them. Don't worry, they can't get any personal or financial info from anybody.

Distributed Denial of Service. It basically means that they use a bunch of computers to simulate a million people trying to log on at once. It overloads the servers and crashes them until the DDOS can be blocked and the servers can be rebooted.
