ITT: Post if you've only beat Crota the legit way.
Cheesers need not respond. Let us real pros gather and bask in our vast superiority over the rest of these plebs.
Beat Crota on the first week, last day before reset, after about two or three hours of attempts. The feeling I got wasn't as ecstatic as when I first downed normal Atheon, but it still felt good. Sadly, this raid feels a lot easier to me than the Vault of Glass did. Hopefully the next raid will outdo VoG.

I think 7 times legit and once cheesed, just to try it. Didn't bother this week, as it only took an hour and a half to run through it 3 times.

1 ReplyBeat Crota first week on Thursday, no video tutorials needed. Joined a few LFGs recently to offer help, but seemed they all wanted to cheese gatekeeper and crota. I use to offer a lot help to lfg on vog, but can't see myself doing the same for CE. Those that can, can, and those that can't will inevitably cheese. Each to their own, personally I like the challenge, a lot of people complain about lack of content, but the best content they decide to skip.

Just was in 2 FULL legit raids today. So refreshing to find 2 groups in one day. Sad it's hard and time consuming to actually do it. Also sad people don't know wtf they are doing even when it comes to bridges.

3 RepliesI sure have and I had more fun because of it. The infinite Crota kneel "cheese" is cheating, plain and simple. You're breaking the network, it's cheating. There's no clever use of game mechanics here, you're just cheating, so don't kid yourself. Something about the Raids that people don't understand is that they're not supposed to be like fountains of loot or something. Getting stuff from the Raid is the closest Destiny has to actually earning your items. If you can't beat the Raid, whether that's a skill issue or a time issue or a lack of friends to play with issue, that's a YOU problem, that's not Bungie's problem and its nowhere near an excuse to cheat. You do not get a "let's break the game to get our items" option. If you can't beat the Raid, for whatever reason, then that's it, you can't beat the Raid. You know what happened when I tried the VoG on hard for the first time and got stomped? It motivated me and eventually my friends and I got through it and it was an awesome experience that I'll never forget. Cheating to beat difficult content negates the reason to be playing the difficult content in the first place. My advice. You'd better learn how to beat the fights legitimately because they're going to be fixed and then what will you do? Complain that it's too hard like the Templar and Atheon after their cheese exploits were fixed.

6 RepliesI would love it if some people would help beat Crota legit on ps4 my GT is same as my name I beat it only one time which was the normal way. And in my opinion .. This cheesiness for this raid takes more time and makes the raid longer if you have a team that doesn't listen

Killed him over 10 times legit as the sword bearer, never even tried cheesing him as it takes no longer then 10mins to kill him. Plus it's good practice for the upcoming hard raid :)

Last 3 times I've played Crota I've killed him first try and within 3 runs. Killed him over 10 times everytime legit. And I am the sword bearer! Here are some PRO tips for you noobs! 1. Titan needs to be sword bearer with highest boosting jetpack. Always goto the box that is chalice spawn and stand on the front so thrall cannot hit you. 2. Everyone always go bottom middle 3. 1 person with ice breaker needs to shoot balcony nights from bottom middle if you stand behind those tall pillars you are safe of Crota and can shoot the knights but you will have to switch sides and pillars to get all knights. 4. Always wait for him to go center before killing swordbearer. 5. Everyone needs some kind of tracking rockets, atleast 2 of those people need ghallahorn. 6. Swordbearer always do Bumper, Bumper, Trigger. Bumper, trigger for maximum damage. And use the bumper to quickly get to him in the air and to quickly get away from him as well. And remember drop to the chalice box again and wait for your team to down him again. 7. Once you hear two or three rockets whiz by your head is the time to start jetpacking upwards quickly look at him and if his shield isn't close to being down yet land on his platform and jetpack up again as high as you can backwards then bumper slash back and forth in place to keep you're height above him until he falls to his knees. If you can do an air Smash on him then get to that combo! 7. If you can use your super always use it at the end of the combo or instantly after hitting the trigger for an instant double hit as there is no wait time for the super. When you pickup the sword you can throw grenades at thrall so you don't have to go out of your way to get super energy. If your team drops him twice in one run you'll always be able to super the second drop if you can kill atleast one thrall. And always use the bumper in the air to fly back to your team to keep yourself safe. And one last unprofessional tip! After Crota moves to the side and your waiting for him to center again have everyone stand together and start taking the chalice like crazy. The mass amounts of button smashing on the chalice will duplicate it as long as one person doesn't take both of them again. Leave one chalice with swordbearer and one with the crew! Happy slaying! Please share my guide so we can make Crota cake without cheese! Yes LeatherLip did just write this.

Took you 3 hours to do it legit? Wow. And you say you have skill. It took me 30 minutes my first time legit. Every other time I cheesed though because that takes 5 minutes.
