ITT: Post if you've only beat Crota the legit way.
Cheesers need not respond. Let us real pros gather and bask in our vast superiority over the rest of these plebs.
Beat Crota on the first week, last day before reset, after about two or three hours of attempts. The feeling I got wasn't as ecstatic as when I first downed normal Atheon, but it still felt good. Sadly, this raid feels a lot easier to me than the Vault of Glass did. Hopefully the next raid will outdo VoG.

My clan got frustrated first week and gave up. I tried many times with ransoms to where I could see what worked and what didn't...went back in with my clan and downed him the first go. It's not hard as long as you have a good sword bearer...tis the key

After it released, that number jumped up into the 100,000's in a manner of 3 days. I beat him 8 times the first week it released, helping friends and such. Just goes to show you, all those people claiming the raid is "so easy" are full of shit, except for a select few.

6 times now baby! My group doesn't like to cheese him, but a couple times i tested out the cheeses on the other parts of the raid.

Edited by Raider TCK: 12/26/2014 3:24:37 AMIv only beaten Crota the once, but it was legit. It also wasn't hard. I had a good team though. And we all had ice breakers or gjallarhorns. So easy mode was on. Atheon on vog hard is more tricky because there are more 'instant kills' that can get you. Also the no revives. So signed I guess.

Personally, I think this raid focused more on team work. I really enjoyed the bridge part where you have to cross one at a time with the sword. It was really satisfying when crota finally fell. Haven't had that feeling since dark souls.

Took a few hours to get timing and coordination down the first week, but now we have a 2 Gjhallahorn system and it has turned into a 15 minute fight, might have to swap the chalice to one of the snipers taking out boomers...but for the most part that fight is a wrap

Did it once with each character. Now, I cheese to get it done. Although tomorrow I'll be soloing it on my hunter so that's something.

5 RepliesBeat the raid legit in 32 minutes last week from drop down to Crota's defeat, I find it really fun and not too stressful with the right team and when you beat it legit, it can make for some pretty epic game play and some good laughs too. However, if I find myself with people who have only cheesed it and I've already done the raid at least once that week, I will oblige to everything but the Crota disconnect. That shit is a) so damn boring, it feels like I'm cheating myself, and b) actually cheating, it's not using something in game to your advantage, it's technically violating the ToS we agreed to upon signing up for PSN/live. To each their own, but I like running it legit so I'm actually getting my money's worth out of this game.
