You misread Arcbolt. It's exactly like the Warlock's firebolt grenades. You throw a grenade and it chains to enemies around it, it doesn't chain between enemies.

The grenade definitely chains between enemies. Watch the animation when it goes off. It wont hit 2 enemies at once. It jumps from enemy to enemy.

It's supposed to chain from enemy to enemy therefore if I throw it in the pack of 3 acolytes that summon the blade of Crota, it might kill one at the most instead of killing 3. According to the description that is WRONG and the grenade should be fixed. Of course I'm talking about the fist of Crota mission for your info.

That's the definition but that's not the way arcbolt grenades work.
-
It's the definition of "chain" which is used in the arcbolt description
