I've completed a decent amount of schooling, and I'm currently in the process of joining the Navy. I ship to MEPS this week, where I hope to land a cryptologic technician rating.
Hmm...let's see...
Just over a year ago, I moved out into the Washington countryside, taking care of a tiny house with a big yard. It's closer to the mountains, so I started hiking semi-regularly and taking my camera along. As a result, I've gotten a lot better at nature photography.
I still work from home, so being far away from the city hasn't been much of a problem in that regard. It's nice having lumberjacks and horse farmers as neighbors. It's been neat felling trees and chopping wood, managing a well and all the pumps/filters connected to it, building and planting a garden, etc.
Last spring, a dog adopted us. There's a fun story about how we got him, but it's better when told in person.
My roommate's gotten kind of bored living down in the woods, so we may end up moving back to the city soon. It'll be interesting moving back to Seattle, after having spent so much time out where it's nice and quiet.
