Do you have the appropriate driver for the NIC? If you don't try downloading the driver on a different device and transferring it over with a USB.

  • i just found the disc that came with the mobo. installing(probably outdated) Intel drivers now. would that fix it?

  • i tried and it worked.F***YEAH! windows should've installed the drivers automatically, i would've assumed. guess i was wrong.... i never thought i'd need the asus disc. but hey, building a computer is a [i]learning[/i] experience... thanks.

  • When I reloaded Windows on my laptop it didn't download any of the networking drivers that I needed. So I had to find them manually which was a pain, since there were multiple different ones and I had to go through each of them until I found the right one. I'm glad that you got it working.

  • Network interface controller...meaning the RJ45 jack in the I/O? tried that with an intel driver from asus.com.. gave me a "autorun.ini" not found...

  • A friend of mine suggested that it might be the I/O port itself, so you might have to call ASUS.
