No. It is a wireless compatibility card, it is what allows the computer to detect Wi-Fi and any general wireless signal for the Internet. You will have to send it to Microsoft tech support.

I know, a laptop is a computer, it works basically the same way with the same parts, just smaller and its own supply of power. I had the same problem.

If it doesn't have that, then buy one, and put one in it.

why? wireless is mostly useless. wired will almost always be faster and more stable unless the wires are old/disrepaired or your Network Engineer is an idiot.
