Need some advice...level 28 warlock and im torn between the claws of ahamkara and patience and time. Dont have an exotic piece of armor yet and the only exotic weapon is super good advice which I could replace with the deviant gravity-a machine gun. What would you guys do?

Armor. If you raise your light level you can take on the more difficult challenges and earn the exotic weapons. Grind those vanguard marks as much as you can, crucible as well. Use them to buy a full set of vendor armor and that will take you to 31. Weapons will come in due time, light level is needed now. Also snipers are a very situational weapon. Try for a primary first... I would suggest the Thorn bounty if you can get it.

Armor, get that light up

I'm voting Armour due to the fact that light level GEARTLY effects how much damage you take as well as how much you do. You can almost take blue weapons in lvl 28 strike if you are lvl 31 :-)

If you have enough Motes, I would gamble on the Exo Helm Engram first. You could get a Skull or Obsidian; both are better than the Claws for Void, for sure. Depending on how much Rahool decides to troll you with the Engram, I would definitely prioritize the Exo Armor over the weapon, no question. Even if Rahool gives you something for another class, you're going to need an Exo Shard to fully upgrade the gloves anyway, so it's not a loss. And I would replace SGA with the Dead Orbit Legendary regardless because it is better in many respects. Especially since you have the pre-DLC version of SGA.

As a sun singer I have the obsidian helmet and since it's only got void perks these arms would in theory be better correct? I have zero void walker. My debate doi buy one P&T and just share between characters or but two?

Yeah, the Gloves are better, but only because you're Singer-only. It's a melee-focused bonus on them, so I don't know how often needing that additional Scorch charge is really going to come into play; I would guess very rarely in PvE and a bit more common in PvP. The larger benefit of this piece is that it's technically universal; all the bonuses work for either subclass. Honestly, if I had a Warlock that was not spec'd into Void and got Obsidian, I would immediately start leveling Void. The Insatiable and Inverse Shadow bonuses on it and then maxing your Int across all your gear could mean near spamable Nova Bombs. And that just sounds freakin' amazing. I would totally, 100% suggest to not buy two P&Ts. There's no reason to go through the cost and material expense of leveling two. Yeah, you have to always remember to drop it in your Vault when switching characters, but dealing with that is way better than spending an additional 24 Coins (17 for P&T and 7 for the Exo Shard). Unless you have, like, 200 Coins. HA!

Well I just finished sun singer so I'll be going onto void now. From what I've read the gloves are good if you select flame shield. Then it's like have two immediate 10 second bs shields. I'll end up doing them both lol. Just bought the one sniper. Did the shard +7k on my Mida.

Yep, this. I throw a nova bomb down the hole when the legions come out in the templars well, and my super Meter is practically refilled immediately. It's awesome.

I tried that with my motes and surprise..two exotics for my level 11 titan I never play with. I broke one down and got my shard. I have to be the unluckiest guy in the world when it comes to engrams..haha.

I've had the same luck; every Legendary or Exo Engram I've ever gotten in the game has given me Ascendant Materials, Motes or Hunter Gear. Rahool is an ass. LOL!

i agree with bearded you will have plenty of opportunities to get exotic weapon, Nightfall, crucible,..etc with the armor you are one step closer to level 31

Buy the exotic piece of armor, do all 10 bounties both vanguard & crucible, turn them all in at once. 99% sure you'll get exotic bounty, do it, then repeat for the other exotic bounties
