for everyone trying to get the "husk of the pit"
Ok so, this is what I did to get that gun. I played "fist of Crota" on normal mode. I also had a black wax idol equipped. I just kept killing the blade of Crota that spawns as you run through that building past that screeching wizard bitch. If he doesn't drop it. Go to orbit and repeat the process. Took me 6 attempts. But it's random so it can take more or less attempts.
EDIT: id like to clarify a few things to help those still trying or gonna make the attempt. 1st, a black wax idol is not required to obtain this weapon. 2nd, there is no bounty tied to acquiring this weapon. 3rd. it seems to be more of a random award when defeating a blade of crota, either done through a patrol or this mission. 4th. you will need hive kills to unlock the upgrade that requires a embalming orb which upgrades it to legendary status and a whole new weapon, someone else posted proof that they had this legendary on the forums. one last thing, good luck to all those still trying, for RNG is a whore.

So i started up destiny, went to first mission, used my sparrow to blast through the first area (where omnigul is), straight inside. Killed the blade, and the gun dropped on first try. No black wax idol, took about a minute, total. Now levellling the thing is much harder, i did it on the last mission on heroic. At the room where you encounter the first shrieker and lots of explosive thralls. Dont leave this room! As long as you dont go through the door, endless waves of explosive thralls will spawn. Its not really usable to loot glimmer, but its perfect for getting hive kills. Grab your husk, spray it at the group (i dont know if it matters, but i tried hitting every thrall at least once before they all blow up). Took about 30 minutes at this spot to get it full. Now to get eris at lvl3...

Farmed for one earlier today for about 20 minutes. (Fist of Crota) Then just an hour ago I was patrolling the Moon when I decided to screw around with a Swordbfor a little while. I killed the Bearer and got my second Husk of the Pit

I did it for a couple hours yesterday on Fist of Crota, but I still didn't get it. My friend got the Husk of the Pit like ten minutes into it.

Got mine yesterday. You then need to kill 500 hive/thrall using to upgrade it (suggest first mission on monn) and add one of those new shards that Eris sells when you get to level 3.

3 hours+ (so far) and still no husk... Lost track of # of attempts,

1 ReplyI got it tonight, kept running fists of Crota normal, no idol or anything. Right when I was gonna quit and watch a movie it dropped! Tho other then upgrading it later, I really don't see the big deal it has a hard time even killing regular thralls. Wasn't worth the effort .

Yes I used this method alright.It took me over 60 attempts but it worked.just keep going with it if your not getting the drop,it will come eventually.

Took me 107 goes but I got it last night. Apparently according to the wiki, the pumpkin head is ment to increase hive drop chances
