for everyone trying to get the "husk of the pit"
Ok so, this is what I did to get that gun. I played "fist of Crota" on normal mode. I also had a black wax idol equipped. I just kept killing the blade of Crota that spawns as you run through that building past that screeching wizard bitch. If he doesn't drop it. Go to orbit and repeat the process. Took me 6 attempts. But it's random so it can take more or less attempts.
EDIT: id like to clarify a few things to help those still trying or gonna make the attempt. 1st, a black wax idol is not required to obtain this weapon. 2nd, there is no bounty tied to acquiring this weapon. 3rd. it seems to be more of a random award when defeating a blade of crota, either done through a patrol or this mission. 4th. you will need hive kills to unlock the upgrade that requires a embalming orb which upgrades it to legendary status and a whole new weapon, someone else posted proof that they had this legendary on the forums. one last thing, good luck to all those still trying, for RNG is a whore.

You do not need to have the DLC to acquire Husk of the Pit. I don't have The Dark Below and I still got it from randomly killing stuff on the Moon. However, you do need the DLC to upgrade it. I'm pretty disappointed by that latter point, since I am stuck with Husk of the Pit until I get the DLC...

The first time after the hot fix I was attempting the blades of crota bounty. I normally do this in rocketyards on cosmodrome, so I killed my first one there. Then I remembered they had opened up the fist of crota mission, so I went there and killed my second blade of crota and the husk dropped. Wasn't even trying for it. Levelled it on the dark beyond mission. RNG on my side for a change.

2 Repliesblack wax idols don't increase your chance of getting them. I have 3 of them from killing him 16 time and didn't use any. its 100% luck.

Edited by fatback1974: 12/18/2014 10:54:33 PMI got it to drop while completing cosmodrone bounties. Doing the divide loop to kill 10 fallen leaders. Third round of blade of crota it dropped. I never get that lucky. Talk about spray and pray though. Not the best gun for the precision kill bounty.

But yeah I was wondering wth that was today :P. It's gonna take a year to upgrade since I've never raided cause finding people is just too time consuming.

I did this for atleast 3 hours last night with no -blam!-ing luck, I think either Destiny hates me or I'm seriously doing something wrong here!

Happy bday man ! I have no idea what this gun is that everyone's trying to get from what I hear it's a while weapon that randomly drops when you kill a sword wielded on earth, but this white weapon turns into an exotic at some point in time If it's true Il worry about it then.

1 ReplySo to clarify, it's not an engram or weapon drop but a triangle like the house banners or black wool? Tried for about an hour this morning and didn't get it. I think I will just play and if I get it great. I don't have time or patience to waste farming for the possibility of the drop.

I got this twice in patrol on the moon killing a Blade of Cota that spawned.
