The story isn't the storymode the real story is the grimoire cards

Yes and I read all of them. There is nothing in there to invest me in my characters role how hard is that for some people to understand. All the backstory is great but there is nothing to invest me in myself

Its ok not everyone likes these type of games. Have you played DA inquisition. Its much more playable for content tourists.

Their is a story. Bungie just refuses to actually integrate it in the game or if they do its a bs 3 missions (dark below)

Because it does. You just have to not be little shits that act like they're allergic to reading. Read the Grimiore. It paints a whole picture when you read them all. Especially the Legends(Legendary Item G Cards) and the Ghost Fragment ones. It does have a story though. Should it be in game? Hell yes. Does it being outside the game help it? Not at all, but does it have a story? Yes.
