You will never land a shot on a console shooter without it. Even if you could turn it off, it would do more harm than good. There is a reason console shooters have aim assist. It's not to make it super easy, it's to make it playable with joy sticks.

O.o every fps I've ever played has had the option to turn it off. If ya can't aim ya can't aim.
-
That's just not true, but w.e It's interesting to me how most everyone in this thread asking for it to be removed has a terrible kd. And then they talk about how auto aim is skilless and other people can't aim. Your bad with aim assist, what do you think you will look like without it? Miraculously better? Ha.
-
What's not true?
-
That you can turn off aim assist in modern console shooters. You might be able to adjust settings (even though no shooter ive played in forever has, but who knows)but aim assist is present always on console shooters.
-
That's what I'm saying they have the option to turn off the full assist but not that magnetism. I don't mind it when it helps just a little but my reticle doesn't need to chase targets.
-
I guess you're new to shooters on consoles? Plenty of shooters have had none of that handholding, for decades now...
-
Except that's not true. Every fps console shooter has aim assist. It is not there for hand holding, it is there so it's playable. Maybe you should also do some research.
-
Sure.
-
Also See Battlefield 4 has no auto aim or aim assist or rather NO magnetism on my reticule.
-
This is the post that shows it's not worth my time to try to help you understand this. Battlefield 4 does have aim assist.

https://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/forum/threadview/2832654490327382211/ How to guide on turning off aim assist for BF4
-
I read this and it does not look like a "how to" guide at all. On top of that its a bunch of guys saying if they turn their aim assist off they get killed by a bunch of noobs using aim assist that don't deserve to kill them. I believe this makes my point better than yours.

Edited by Scrotimere: 12/18/2014 6:40:05 AMNo because my point is freedom of choice your point assumes people are unskilled. (Pulled from the link) Can someone remind me why exactly aim assist is needed for the console versions of BF3? Something along the lines of a controller not being as precise as a PC set-up (Keyboard & mouse), no? Difficulties aiming with a controller, and what not. Well, this is coming from a 15 year old, and I mean it when I say it is not hard to aim with a controller, by any means. Aim assist literally hindered my game play, and I began to improve tremendously as soon as I turned it off. (first two sentences) The rest of the post is more trolls like you saying people have no skill. I had to dig to find out where someone told the guy how to turn it off here is the secret I meant to show you: ( Also from the link) 2013-11-06 04:24 Secret way to bypass aim assist; Turn it off.
-
I never even said people were unskilled. I also don't have a problem with you wanting to turn it off. I'm only telling you that every fps has it, that almost every game you said it can be turned off in it can't, and that if you are playing without any form of aim assist against people that have it you won't do good.
-
Actually it would be playable, and yes COD does have an option to turn it off, and if u do it will not even twitch ur cross hairs of someone is in sight or moving. And it is very playable, seeing as u said that it it is unplayable because of analog sticks is pathetic... Aim assist is there for the average player, that way people don't rage quit every game out there that has guns. But sorry it is very possibly and playable to have aim assist off.

Which COD?
-
Which COD?
Every cod nearly. Especially the new ones
-
Yet another vague answer.
-
Yet an answer none the less.
-
Maybe I should get specific. Can you turn it off on ghosts?
-
I believe so. Along with advanced warfare as well. Dont quote me on that though just going by what I remember

Edited by hawkeye99: 12/17/2014 9:00:54 PMYou can't. How about MW3?
-
Edited by Scrotimere: 12/18/2014 6:47:21 AMThis guy has a video of turning it off in MW2
-
Edited by hawkeye99: 12/18/2014 1:42:40 PMI haven't called you dumb yet, but holy crap. That is a screen to set your default options...but it only works if the option exists in game. It won't do anything in MW2. Go look at the video you posted and read the comments. A bunch of guys that haven't tried it tell him thank you. The rest say they turned it off and it didn't do anything.

Just because they don't notice the difference doesn't mean it's not helping by having it off, many people don't even know auto aim is on let alone what it feels like to free aim. Ignorance pure and simple.
