You realize that those engrams may not decrypt in to anything new because when the engram update dropped were already encoded.

That's assuming that the engram is assigned a specific item when it drops. Or does that happen when at the cryptarch? Does anyone actually know with certainty?

I'm sure the Cryptarch is the decider. I've stored blue engrams for my alts and they always decrypt for the appropriate class. If the contents were predetermined I would be getting gear for the character who picked up the engrams not the ones turning it in...
