It's a situational gun. If you can't control what's happening around you to hit important shots without getting hit too much, you won't do well with it. TLW destroys Thorn in close quarters, but can't compete with its precision and TTK over distances. I'd still say Hawkmoon is better than thorn, but I'm on xbox so that's not an option.

In close quarters 1 shot and throwing knife gets me out of sticky situations. I have just adapted my gameplay to thorn and is more rewarding than my previous kamakazee approach.

Best combo out, whenever I see a shotgun user or Titan rushing me I just shoot once with thorn the throwing knife for finisher. It's too good!!

Lols that'd be interesting. Maybe the new subclass will give us something of the sort whenever it gets released.
