No, we should be teaching children critical thinking instead.

It truly is comedy to me that the atheistic, secular world, thinks you have to teach a child how to learn. Critical thinking is a psychological phenomenon used to acquire either a reason or explanation for what is being observed. Simple right? Wait, why must we need to burden ourselves with forcing nature, more importantly, try to force this practice, if our evolutionary process has all but done the hard work for us? It's an illogical, and unnecessarily redundant plea for thinkers to think, but only to a certain extent. Exclude or eradicate religious influence? You'll have better luck finding Hitler for round 2. And it may be more necessary than you find palatable.
-
I get the impression that teaching children critical thinking is like teaching tall people to be short.
-
The Texas Republican Party is not supporting teching critical thinking. They also oppose the UN Declaration on The Rights of the Child.

You call yourself the "Voice of Reason" yet you're unable to spell and use proper grammar?

So you're saying Christians aren't smart?
-
Edited by dazarobbo: 12/8/2014 3:44:13 AMChristians wouldn't be Christian if they thought critically, and that's not just an assertion either. http://www.sciencemag.org/content/336/6080/493 http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/how-critical-thinkers-lose-faith-god/

Scots wouldn't be Scots if they put sugar on their porridge.
-
It's not a true Scotsman fallacy because, if Christians took a more critical approach to their belief in Jesus and God, those beliefs wouldn't stand up to the criticism and they wouldn't believe in them any more - they wouldn't be Christian.
-
I'm starting to think atheists don't want us to exist anymore. Every atheist I have seen hates religion

Textbook ad hominem.

this mitt Romney fellow is just Xboxdotcom, he just changed his username somehow. I know this because Xboxdotcom is the only person I've muted. that should explain a lot.

Thanks, Sherlock.
-
Whatever, there are smart Christians too
-
There are well-educated Christians, but they're not logical, rational or critical. They just learn things, they don't think critically when it comes to opinions and beliefs. Otherwise they'd be an atheist, or even an agnostic or a deist.

Edited by Dustin: 12/8/2014 4:24:03 AMThey hate God because they blame Him for their problems rather than themselves. And in doing so they hate all who follow Him. God's great glory will lead us all to heaven, and the sinners shall be left behind to face their punishment.
-
And to you and the rest of the atheists, all your arguments seem to make sense. But what you don't realize--what you can't realize, is that you are being manipulated by the dark powers of the under world. To Christians it makes perfect logical sense how God exists, and that is because we are not manipulated, but rather 'guided' along the correct path. You cannot understand Him until you believe Him.

Edited by JAMES Z666: 12/8/2014 4:27:25 PMNobody takes you seriously, and nobody likes you. You piss off atheists because of your insults and you piss off theists because you're taking the piss out of them.
-
I have no idea what you're talking about.
-
Yes, you do: you are lying...
-
You disagree with my argument therefore I'm lying? Interesting how these atheists communicate, as if what they're saying makes sense.
-
-
But can we not do both?
-
You can't think critically and be religious. They're conflicting points.
-
Much like saying you can't write fiction if you're a realist. And no, not that the realist hasn't any good ideas, but because his views differ from the fictional authors'. That's the single most arrogant explanation for ANYTHING, and it needs no others bc with that mindset, you have already lost.
