What will happen to the vendors on the 9th?

•Existing Legendary gear on display in the Tower will be replaced
•New Legendary gear will feature higher Attack and Defense values
Thoughts? I'm curious whether these will simply be "upgraded" versions of current items with higher attack/defense but same perks, etc, or entirely new things. Speculation welcome.
(more specifically, I'm wondering if I should rush to get New Monarchy rank 3 and finally buy that Vanquisher for PVP and not open my package until the 9th, or try NOT to level hoping that will make sure I get a commendation and then I can get an all-around better, vanquisher V2. Advice welcome)

1 ReplyFrom the YouTube footage I have seen of the new strike the vanguard weapons will be new - although they look similar to what's currently on sale but with re-skins & perks. For example a gun which looks v much like Dr nope (with black paint job) has been shown off, the devil you know is now 'the devil you don't'. Visually I much prefer the new look!

6 RepliesLet's hope they rebalance where PVE gear is sold, or add vanguard marks to the factions. Otherwise crucible gets flooded with AFKs grinding out marks.

So wait they are getting rid of old legendaries all together? I thought it would make more sense to add new gear not just update the stats of current gear. Now there is no climb just lvl 24 to 30 like that

12 RepliesNOTE: Advice to people, due to the way the new system works when you level up your reputation after the 9th (Vanguard and Crucible) you receive a commendation medal/coin that you can redeem for a piece of light 30 (level 30) gear. So if your close to ranking up to your next level hold up on those booty's (bounties) a little longer.

I'm interested to see if the starting light level will be the same but the top end higher, or if it will start higher and climb slightly higher, assume the later of the two.

I'm not sure if they replace the existing items or simply 'add' the new ones in. As for engrams, i doubt they'll be affected as Bungie would've warned us to use them before the update (as they did with the Cryp update). It would also seem that your current legendary gear (((Won't))) update like the exotics do and you'll have to either buy the newer versions or wait for Bungie to address this issue and offer a 'Legendary Upgrade System' which i could see using MOL (Motes of Light) to upgrade as they have been rendered semi-useless (unless you love buying all the aesthetic crap the Speaker has for sale) after Xur removed the Exotic Engram from his inventory.

3 RepliesEdited by namaste: 12/7/2014 8:48:15 PMI am leveling all of my vanguard/faction to the cusp of ranking and waiting till Tuesday to get the rewards and the token or whatever that allows you buy an item, otherwise you will have to rank up again to get this item. Just wait and keep any exotic bounties or engrams till then too.
