There are elemental legendary primaries they're called raid weapons. Did you mean exotics?

My point was why use an exotic on the raid when you have Atheon's Epilogue? or why use Thorn on nightfall if you have VoC? Imo the fact the raid weapons do elemental damage makes exotics obsolete

Yeah they do. Except vex. Exotics are all underpowered regardless of how OP people say they are but idk some people like exotic primaries over elemental cuz not every enemy has a shield so they work better for non shielded enemies (except in nightfall)

Only unshielded enemies in nightfall are Goblins, Hobgoblins, Thralls, Acolytes, Dregs, Vandals, Psions, Phalanxes and legionaries, I wouldn't purposely change my weapon mid-strike to kill a thrall, neither would 99% of people, they're all easy to kill, plus with the element burn raid weapons do literally 4x more damage than exotic primaries

Didn't mean change weapon I meant use special weapon in shielded guys that's what I feel most people do. Fusion rifles are great for this on or two shot to no shield, or a sniper if they're far

It dosnt make it obsolete. It just is another option. And you have to be able to get the raid gear. Everyone on the forums are such extremists.

It does though, would you even think about using an exotic except the Vex on the weekly/nightfall? Doubt it
