1. We will be getting a new seleciton of exotic and legendary gear with higher ratings to work towards.
2. Vault of Glass raid armor was spec'd specifically to assist you in fighting the Vex....we're going to be fighting the Hive.
3. There will be new raid weapons and armor spec'd to assist us in fighting the Hive.
4. This is how MMOs and RPGs work. If you don't like the gear-grind, this game----these games----are not for you.

We shouldn't HAVE to reset everything from scratch just to keep up with the next expansion. It should be a choice between things, or easier somehow. They're basically telling us to start all over to compete after we've already grinded enough. And not to mention people won't feel good leveling there exotics up this week, knowing they'll just have to start all over anyways just to keep up.
GG
1) I'm a long, long time veteran of MMO's. I've been playing MMO's since they were test-based adventures written out in DOS systems. I know about the loot grind and the grind to make gear better. Actually, it's one of my favorite parts of MMO's. 2) Where Bungie is erringly deviating from the typical MMO formula is that most every MMO, when a new Raid drops with better gear, there's still a way to bring your older Raid gear up to par with the newer equipment. 3) Other MMO's do it that way because it still takes a grind to get your older gear up to the newer levels, but you don't feel as though all of your past work has been made useless. 4) Bungie really, really needs to take a look at how other MMO's keep older gear viable and fix this quickly.

It's different when you grind for gear and upgrade it only to have the Devs force you to purchase said gear and upgrade it again.
