Oh geez it's philosophy? That changes things I guess if you had a lot of time, you could create counter arguments for each of their theories... That would require you to research their positions and history in order to make a coherent argument, which is in a way studying in itself!

Hmm, more like liberal arts. We do read many philosophical texts though and that is pretty much what makes us think differently. These are amazing books but some philosophers such as Kant are not so straightforward!

I am going to ask you again. Why is a LA degree useless? Some people in my uni program went to Oxford and Cambridge with their degrees and even have full time jobs.
