Thorns poison actually needs a nerf. It will 2 shot you easily, way to over powered in the crucible if you ask me lol.

Problem with the ninja nerf was that it nullified the dot aspect of the gun which required you to use 3 shots. The gun is quite balanced. Pre patch thorn users will testify the gun was really a dark horse and most of the complaints against it were from run gun ho users. Thorn rewards slow steady precise gameplay. Now with the added advantage of taking on multiple targets with an increased mag.

The poison is the same now as it has been since the gun was put in the game. 7 dmg per tick. That doesn't need a nerf. They didn't increase the impact or damage, and the 7 has been this way all along (until the ninja nerf patch before last). It's no different than TDYK or Last Word in Crucible.

2 shots will get you close to dead, as a hunter with the weakest armour setting. I can't speak for any other classes, more often its when your under fire from multiple people and getting splash damage from grenades that may finish you off. But similarly the Hawkmoon will guarantee 3 shot kills with occasional 2 shots if your lucky with the extra damage bullet. So I don't think this gun is unbalanced. its sitting in the right place, it probably shouldn't of got a magazine increase though, how much did it go up to? it is quite hard to get and not the easiest to use, so its fair that it should be powerfull to some degree. unless we get to a point where 5 out of 6 of your opponents are using it, I don't see a problem. People are using a variety of guns post patch and enjoying weapons they otherwise stored in their vaults, thats good. Pre-patch I was getting frustrated with 5 out of 6 opponents using fusion rifles or shotguns as their main weapon. thats when you have a problem.

I have yet to thoroughly try it out the buffs. I heard the poison damage was buffed to 25/s, in PvE. Does it do the same in PvP?

I was getting 86 dot damage on nightfall.

No other gun should be nerfed in Pvp before Fusion rifles get nerfed.
