you know its not exclusive to star wars, right? there are already other works of fiction with 'force lighting' in it. star wars might not even be the original.
Interesting that it may not be the original. If it were though, I'd definately say as a fan that I would like to see it exclusively for starwars. If not though, I'd hope at least to see a bit more creativity go into the ability rather than copying straight from its predecessors. Naturally It would project from the hand, but perhaps instead of being just straight up lightning. Make it subtle, I will ellaborate.
A slight static charge emits from the forearm and relocates to the hand balled into a fist. In a forward punching motion, a transparent oblong void would be projected forward. Upon its release would create a static charge from what looked like dust being swept from off the ground. During the ability hitting its target, would envelope the target in a searing pulse of electricity(would look like a sunsinger melee finish with a mix of electricity). Also pushing near by targets back. (Totally not the force, XD)
Hm. I'm with you on the persuit of originality, but you don't have to be so strict on yourself not to mention on others.
Also, have you never had that moment when you think of something you believe is original, and have it turn out not to be? Worst feeling ever.
Tell me about it, mostly everything we can think up comes from some sort of inspiration. As far as being strict, I was only sharing an opinion. Also sometimes things are good just the way they are.
