See, it's different psychology. With good team tactics and awareness, people can avoid those multi kills from the other supers, simply by not bunching up. The mobility, combined with the damage resistance is what pisses people off about bladedancing. You really can't run away, in most instances and killing the dancer just doesn't usually happen. Even with superior awareness, there is often nothing you can do to stop the inevitable.
In this sort of game, where fast reactions and decisions are gold, it sucks to see a bladedancer coming and not be able to do anything about it. It just doesn't flow with the rest of the game.
After trying out the Bladedancer subclass for awhile, I went Gunslinger for pvp. It's abilities take more precision and, imo, skill to use. I like more of a challenge than mashing down on an easy button.

Doesn't flow with the rest of the game? Except when you see a Titan leap up to foh or a warlock jump to nova it's 9 times out of 10 inevitable but God forbid bladedancers get the same. It's far easier to kill a bladedancer than it is the other 2 classes.
-
No, when a Lock or titan gets you with the super, it's usually because they took you by surprise. If you do see it coming, it's very easy to escape or even kill them. With a bladdancer, you can see it coming from a mile away and still not be able to do much about it. If you have team mates around or the right weapon equipped, it can help but it just seems wrong that you can more tactically aware than a dancer but still get cut down. If you can't see the obvious difference in how these supers operate, I don't know what to tell you except take your head out of the sand. Btw, I've used the dance once or twice. It was as easy and op as it looked from the other side. I now run Gunslinger, both to not feel dirty and because, imo, it's a more fun class.

They got the drop? Yeah that takes the exact same amount of skill it takes to run around with a shotgun. Run into a room press button done. You cannot do anything about their supers ones activated bc they get way more damage resistance than a bladedancer. If you see a bladedancer at distance and can't down him before he gets to you then you deserve to die bc you're shit. I have taken them out with nothing but my primary with that kind of range.

Well, in objective play, I found bladedancing an entire team off of a zone to be ridiculously easy, especially for a middling player like me. In the end, I don't care nor do I find them so op to warrant any nerfs. I just wouldn't go around thinking I was the bomb because I did a good bladedance.

Edited by Drking7287: 11/24/2014 11:10:36 PMI'm not trying to say I'm good or whatever. I know I'm not and I use gunslinger anyway. A bladedancers best friend is panic bc then you don't do what you need to do to stop him and if you don't do what you need to do and he kills you all its you're fault. A persons super should not be able to be shut down by shitty gameplay.

I can jive with that. It's still a bit strong, imo, but people greatly overestimate it, no doubt. I tell people if they hate something, try it out. It often gives a fresh perspective. After I tried bladedancing, however, it was clear to me that I would do better with the versatility of the Gunslinger. Chain of Woe, hot fire knives, stability all day...and the GG is a great surgeon's scalpel.

I agree chain and trance with hand cannons is just a wet dream. I've been practicing with throwing knife and trip mine getting better with them and really liking them. Previously arc bolt and blink strike with fast twitch and hungering blade were the main reasons I used bladedancer in PvP bc I wasn't good with throwing knife or tripmine. I rarely activated arc blade I felt I could survive better without it since if you manage to survive without being gunned down slicing everyone it often left you in a not so great position when it ended.

I've played Gunslinger and Bladedancer in pvp extensively, Gunslinger is far better due to GG, throwing knife and trip mine Arcblade is easily the worse super in the game, everything is a counter to it
-
Oh yeah, the trip mine is really great in control, once you learn the best places to put them.
-
On the contrary, you can run away, it's piss easy and I survive lots of arc blade encounters simply by running away. I might post a video on it just to show people how easy it is.

Sometimes I get away, often I dont. When you see something in a FPS from a mile awhile and can't stop it, it changes the psychology of what is "fair". I personally don't care enough to whine or call for a nerf. Having used it, however, I do call out anyone saying it isn't an easy button. Coupled with the biggest psychological effect of it, bladedancing is what it is: great for noobs to learn with and great for wussies who loves crutches. If this makes any of you mad, of well. You can't force people to respect something.
