I try to do the same by firing at them to let them know "Hey there is a box here"

Sometimes nothing works! I've tried both at times with no luck. A quick shot and a wave. I don't shoot the person. Just a quick shot or two from my location and a wave. Hopefully one will be noticed.

Exactly I figure if they are just too stupid to investigate it is time to go back to solo farming chests
