Of course they are gamers! Super Smash Bro series still has tournaments at EVO which is one if not the top fighting game tournament in the world.
Nintendo games usually are pandered towards a younger audience but there are adult themes and sexual themes if you look close enough at them that people usually miss.
They've started to add more mature title such as the Bayonetta series and The Devil's Third which also happen to be exclusive to the Wii U minus the original Bayonetta.

I'd love to see more games like Bayonetta on their console, my girlfriend loves Nintendo and she wants Bayonetta 2. Combine the more serious game with the fact it has silly costumes like Link and other Nintendo characters made her very happy. [spoiler]I really regret not playing Bayonetta myself[/spoiler]

Get Bayonetta! It comes with both of the games no matter which version you buy if you haven't bought it yet. I highly recommend it! Ya I think they are starting to get some more mature titles on their console plus there are mature games but they just don't get released to the western audience like the Fatal Frame series

She'll probably get it for Christmas so I'll probably ask if I can check it out. I love everything I hear about the game and every day I begin regretting switching to next gen so soon since I'm missing out on some older games I didn't know existed.

Yup it didn't get a 10/10 for nothing! I've felt that as well... Kind of regret selling my PS3 to get a PS4 and now realizing all the games I missed during that generation that were really good but I just didn't hear about them.

Neither did I but I never got too involved in the series. Played 1&2 but just never played 3.
