100% Agree.
It's awesome when it comes from a drop, but getting the coins (which is the same grind to get the drops) is still earning it

Right? i mean you can do the nightfall and possibly get an exotic. But, you may do the nightfall and get shards or energy. and if that's the case then you still have the ability to do the weekly heroic to get some strange coins which will help you on your way to get a exotic from xur. I think if you end up with an exotic, no matter how you got it, the game gave it to you. you have "earned it" no matter how it came about.
