As a lvl 30, I will not raid(hard) with anyone who is below 29 and who hasn't already done it at least 5 times on hard. You have to pick up slack on a lvl 29, so it helps if they at least know what they're doing. Also, must have a fully unlocked raid weapon. There's no use for a level 29 with no raid useful weapons. Person must also have good listening skills and willing to follow to the tee.
Most lvl 30s already have a steady raid team of able lvl 30s, so doing the raid with lvl 29s is pretty much a favor.

Only way to get the Helmet though :'( now I need to wait for xur on Friday to sell an exotic helmet to get to 30 cause I barely have anyone prepared it

Should have bought them in advanced. I had 2 fully lvled out exotic helmets, a lvled out exotic arm peice, and a lvled out exotic chest piece, just in case I needed one to replace a piece of raid armor I didn't have

That is genius but after like the 60th time I ran the vault I found out you don't get it on normal. I thought I could hold on to the exotic I thought was the nicest but yet again destiny forces people to look exact the same.
