Which was made to prevent the government from establishing an "official" religion and controlling said religion(which is what England had done at the time of the Revolution)and from the church becoming the government(as seen pre-revolution[dark ages]). It wasn't made so that a statue of Jesus or a plaque dedicated to Satan couldn't be hung up in a state or federal owned building, as many perceive it to be.
