Bungie has said once dismantled its gone forever, i support a system that helps people, but i also think that if you were that careless or distracted it was deserved

Or just eager to get to 28 so that I can be of some use in their end game content. If you are going to make people grind this hard to progress to raid point, you MUST allow for mistakes like that to be reversed. After a few strikes I spend most of the next minute or two dismantling useless gear drops. Other games do it, and as mentioned by someone else if Bungie are playing at making MMO/RPG's (or however you want to categorise it), this element, as well as all the others that I have mentioned, should be implemented to improve the pick up and play factor of this game.

Multiple buttons?

2 different tasks.

Regardless of them being 'tasks' or 'buttons' they are still needed. Unless you are just dismantling gear 'willy-nilly' without ensuring it's the correct piece, first. Not sure about you, but when I go to dismantle a piece of gear, I look at the info, rarity, name, etc.. before casting it off into the abyss.

Well no, I don't unless it's legendary or exotic. As I had an exotic in that slot, I was going for dismantle. I had done about 8-10 others before I got to it, so yeah, my mind wandered as I dismantled all the blues I didn't need and it got caught in the crossfire.

Sucks. But I bet you pay attention to what you dismantle going forward. At least one would hope so.
-
No you don't have to allow people to reverse their mistakes. I bet now that you accidentally deleted that legendary you'll be much more careful in the future and thus the problem fixes itself.

You've clearly never met me! 👍

No believe me I'm just as absent minded as you are. But after I nearly dismantled the vex mythoclast I started paying a lot more attention :D

At least you can say 'almost'.
