getting banned for picking up kings watch ghosts
So I've heard that buy picking up the kings watch ghosts you get perma-banned now why the -blam!- is that there on the game with an area with enemy's just cause you cut it cause u wana sell it as dlc u are banning people

Untrue, I as many have them. There is no way they would ban someone for riding a sparrow through a wall and jumping to it. It's on my download. (Digital copy) I reckon this might be a rumour started by bungie to deter many from bothering. I feel safe saying I've glitched into many areas including the up and coming raid. It's fun, and I reckon developers have left most these routes in the game intentionally. For example in the end raid room, there is an invisible barrier half way up the big room, why add a barrier into out of bounds content? And also if they really didn't want people sneaking in, why not just make it a turn back area? The only glitches worthy a ban are ones that ruin other players enjoyment of the game.

6 RepliesNot that i care because i can't really be bothered trying these type of exploits out, but I'm pretty sure i paid for my copy of this game and should be allowed to do what ever the hell i like in game with my copy. They should not be able to ban people for exploiting their game when they should have done their due diligence in the first place by making these areas more unaccessable.

No one got banned for picking up ghosts. I have ALL the DLC-area-ghosts like thousands of other players.

No one was banned for picking up the ghosts. There was no ghost shell to pick up there. The only people banned happened to have a dlc ghost shell equipped.

You won't get banned for picking up the dead ghost. You probably will get banned for having the intrusion shell in your inventory. That's because the dead ghosts have nothing to do with that shell. People hacked to get that. That's why 90% of the people who got caught in the Tuesday ban wave have that shell equipped.

The rumor spawned from someone on the forums who made a video of glitching into King's Watch, they picked up the Ghosts as well as the Intrusion Shell so people assumed that is what caused the ban. What actually got them banned was the fact that they were trying to sell hacks for Destiny.

They closed the area off. You glitched into it and grabbed something nobody should have access too, so yeah you got what you deserved. Whether or not the content is cut is irrelevant.
